Upper School

Coach Bland's training resulted in a state championship and growth of individual character. He invested time in us spiritually, academically, and in an avenue that has been the most impacting part of my high school experience. ~ Andrew, HCA senior

Since IHSA participation began in 2011-12 our success has lead to a Class 1A State Championship for Boys' Cross Country (Fall 2016)

We believe in using athletics for the purpose of discipling our student athletes in and for Jesus Christ.

We believe that the specific principles and characteristics taught and needed for success in athletics—discipline, responsibility, leadership, sacrifice, work ethic, courage, perseverance, and accountability—are the same principles that our students need to become strong leaders who glorify God.

We also believe that as followers of Jesus Christ, we are to strive for excellence in all things, and our performance and effort in athletics should be no different. Therefore, we will be tenacious and driven in our preparation and competition. But in victory or defeat, we will exhibit the highest level of sportsmanship and integrity, that we may glorify God in all things.

All of these are integral parts of our Upper School Athletics program.
