Christian Education for Future Generations

GRANDPARENTS DAY

HCA Grandparents,

We hope this letter finds you healthy and well.  We are very disappointed to not be able to have you in person this week.  After sustaining a COVID outbreak early this month, we believed it best to have Grandparents’ Day online so as not to place any of you in a compromising health position.  Personally, Grandparents’ Day is one of my favorite days of the school year.  I love having the opportunity to share all of the ways your grandchildren are impacted by HCA.  We look forward with much anticipation to having you back with us in person next year.  Please join us in praying that this can be the case.

Much has changed in the world since we last gathered in person together for Grandparents’ Day.  There have been many twists and turns in our society and particularly in the world of k-12 education.  Much of the focus of secular education has shifted from the fundamentals of learning to instructing young people how to view social and political issues.  You can rest assured that we remain completely committed to training your grandchildren in Biblical principles and with traditional values.  We continue to focus on a providing a rigorous academic program that cultivates the gifts the Lord has placed into them and prepares them for their calling in our world.  Our goal is to cooperate with your children to produce Godly, well-prepared young people who will go out into the world and shine a light for Jesus Christ with excellence in every industry and facet of society.

Occasionally people will share concerns about the direction our society is heading, lamenting that their children (and grandchildren) will be living in a world that oftentimes disregards God’s word and seems much more interested in secular values.  As a father of young children, there have been times that these events have discouraged me also.  However, I was recently reminded that the God who set the entire universe in motion and who (as Isaiah 25:1 says) has “done wonderful things, plans formed of old, faithful and sure”, is the same God who determined that this generation of young people (your grandchildren) was created and equipped to point a lost world to a perfect and loving God.  So, instead of being concerned for what your grandchildren will experience, join me in being encouraged that the Lord will do great things in the world through them and their obedience to what He will call them to.  Our God is sovereign and we believe that He has created and is equipping them for such a time as this.

That is why we remain so committed to the calling of Christian education.  Our terrific team of teachers and leaders knows that we are training the next generation of the Church.  It is a great motivator to understand that the work one does will outlive our lives.  The commitment of our staff is fueled by this understanding.  Please know how much we enjoy participating in this calling and are grateful to partner with you, our Lion grandparents, in this process.  With that, let me wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas season with your families!  We look forward, with much anticipation, to the time you can join us again here at HCA.

For from him and through him and for him are all things.
To him be the glory forever! Amen.

Would you be moved to invest in your legacy?
