Beginning in the 2022-23 school year, Mr. Young was promoted to serve as the principal over grades 5-12. Prior to this, Mr. Young oversaw the students in grades K-8. We are grateful for his skill set to serve at HCA as the principal managing students at all levels in our school.  Mr. Young oversees faculty, staff, and students in these areas and serves the Lord with fervor and passion here at HCA. Mr. Young came to HCA in 2012 after teaching for over 10 years at Larkin High School in Elgin.

Mr. Young came to know Christ when he was in college. I thought that I was good enough on my own and when I was in college God brought me to the place where I recognized that I was not a good person, that I was incredibly selfish and that I needed a Savior.  I gave my life to the Lord in February of 1993 and He has been growing and changing me ever since.

Mr. Young loves working with the students and loving them with Christ’s love.  He is here to serve in whatever capacity the Lord has for him and to be a part of what the LORD is doing here at HCA. His life verse is Jeremiah 9:24: Let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth.

Mr. Young and his wife Andrea have attended Harvest Bible Chapel since 2003. Mrs. Young serves on staff at the church, and they have three sons: Kyler (class of 2018), Kaden (class of 2021), and Chase (class of 2023). They’ve been involved in almost every area of service at HBC.
